New Website Have A Look

So basically when I was doing my HND we had a brief to create a website for ourselves, overall I wasn’t happy with this at all so I have taken it upon myself to create myself a more professional site, in which possible clients etc. can contact me on and look into myself abit more.

I will be updating this site all the time and it isn’t 100% yet, I have a lot more planned.

So if you get a chance have a look on: http://alexrichardson93.wix.com/alexrichardsondesign

Any questions or know how contact me on either the new site or via here!

Thanks

Magazine Design

Inside The Melody

We had a task at college to choose a piece of deign from a magazine, we had to analyse the piece for our own work using the “PMI“, the “Pluses”, the “Minuses” and the “Interesting”

Pluses: I could take note of the colours used and how fewer colours can make a design more appealing because of the simplicity created. Strong bold text works well on a contrasting background and it is legible which makes the poster easy to find out what it is about.

Minuses: I want to try to make my personal poster portray its message a bit better than this one and I would like to make the text larger so it can be read further away at a glance.

Interesting: I could use the central focal point idea, possibly used a black and white image from more contrast against the text. The fact that the piece has various layers makes it more visually appealing .

Analysing a piece using the “PMI” method work really well it can clearly show me what I like, what I don’t and what I found interesting when I first saw the piece, so I think that I will start to use this method more in my research and analytical work.
